COMMEMORATIVE ENVELOPES

(All prices are in U.S. dollars)

Purchase a Special Commemorative Envelope, which will be carried on the Territorial Express Stagecoach Run in September, as a special memento of the adventure.

The cost is 1 (one) envelope for $5.00, 5 (five) envelopes for $20.00

Purchase one or more of these commemorative envelopes, return them to us, and we will carry them on the stage in September. Once the stage completes the run, the envelopes will be turned over to the US Postal Service, and will be returned to the addressee via regular US mail.

ENVELOPES MUST BE RETURNED TO US BY SEPTEMBER 1, 2008, IN ORDER TO BE PROCESSED FOR CARRYING ON THE STAGE.
(Envelopes may also be purchased at stage stops during the event itself)

Please send a check or money order to:

Tumwater Historical Association
PO Box 4315
Tumwater, WA 98501-0315

Be sure to include your full mailing address, so we can send your purchase to you.

We are working as quickly as a volunteer can move to install our PayPal account on this website, so once that's done you may also use PayPal for your ticket purchase.

MAILING INSTRUCTIONS (also included with the envelope you purchase)

  • Address the commemorative (brown ink) envelope with the name and address of the person you want to receive the envelope. You can even mail it back to yourself. Enclose a letter if you like.

  • Attach first class postage to the commemorative envelope. Use a “Forever” stamp or a 42 cent stamp (USPS will be increasing first class postage to 42 cents this spring). IMPORTANT—MAIL WILL NOT BE DELIVERED UNLESS YOU ATTACH THE CORRECT POSTAGE! If your letter or enclosure weighs more than an ounce, be sure to attach extra postage.

  • Enclose the commemorative envelope (with correct first class postage attached) in the bigger envelope provided. If you purchased more than one commemorative envelope, you can put several in one bigger envelope to mail back to us. Attach correct first class postage to the outer envelope, too, and mail the whole thing to the Tumwater Historical Association, PO Box 4315, Tumwater WA 98501-0315. GET THE ENVELOPE BACK TO US BY SEPTEMBER 1, 2008.

When we receive your commemorative envelope, we will mark it “CARRIED ON THE TERRITORIAL EXPRESS STAGECOACH, SEPTEMBER 2008”. This mark proves that the envelope was carried on our stage. At the end of the stage run, your envelope will be turned over to the U.S. Postal Service, and will be delivered to the addressee through regular mail.

Envelopes returned to us prior to the event will receive a special collectible cancellation at the end of the run or at stage stops during the run itself (postal employees will be at each stage stop to sell stamps and to cancel the envelopes).

If a large volume of mail is received, each envelope may be carried on only a portion of the stage run. If possible, though, all mail will be carried by stage for the entire distance of the run.
